DRIBBLER
....LOOKS WHO'S ACTIVE...AGAIN
THE PHANTOM DRIBBLER
Proving once again that who ever it is doesn't know how to paint or draw. Has no imagination or skill.
This is thier way of saying it.
Probably is young, from a good home but no job
Picaso screwed it up when he started abstract art.
Now a days anyone who can throw up on a canvas calls themselves an artist. Recently in NYC some
woman did just that. Threw up colors on a canvas.
Another woman had her baby in a gallery. Is she an artist?
This is the school of art the Dribbler subscribes to
Years ago during the impressionist period artist sold
"Merde de artist"
Artist shit. The thinking was, if an artist shits, it must be art, because what ever an artist does is art.
Like everywhere art is about the politics of culture and cliques. Your politics and sexual orientation
are more important than the art.
That determines who gets shown and who doesn't.
(Note: A well timed, well placed blow job is worth anywhere from a thousand hours at an easel to ten thousand hours, depending on the talent of the person giving the blow job)
Has nothing to do with the art. An autistic person has a better chance of being shown than real talent.
After all, real talent is a real threat. Once there was a real artist, so they killed him.
You know why people have galleries? So they can tell artist "NO". They express thier jealousy thru the power of denial. Which of course is a tool of the weak and in-adequate

SHOCK AND AWE
Sept 12, 2012
SICULIANOS
The pizza place on the boardwalk next to the Silver Ball museum was my base of operation for the summer.
They liked me and were friendly. They gave me free coffee and sometimes pizza and let me store my gear there. My spot was on the bench directly in
front of thier place.
When the season was over and Sept rolled around They started closing on Tues. and Wed.
This was the second week of that.
Wed. morning I rode my bike near thier place. I noticed the door was open. I thought that was strange. Then one of the principles came out and called to me.
Come get your stuff. (My art gear that was kept there) As I got close I saw a sign in the door that said auction. Inside half the stuff was gone.
They had closed down, auctioned off everything and were in the process of leaving. I was in total shock.
They cited problems with the landlord as an explanation. That was also one of the reasons cited by the Sand Witch.
Madison Marquette has a bad reputation.
Too greedy,
but then that's capitalism for you.
My family, my friends, my place, gone in the blink of an eye. Summer is over for sure, not to
mention no more free coffee.
Another business run off. First the Sand Witch now Siculianos.
Congratulations
The city and MM are doing a good job of
working together to destroy the boardwalk.
OTHER FOOT
Not to be outdone by themselves the city shot itself in the other foot. In thier rush to become a police state they have now out lawed riding bicyles and having dogs on the board walk all year round.
Ya'vol mien fuher
Can you imagine in the dead of winter with not another soul insight you can't ride a bike or walk a dog. Why? Some one might get hurt, be offended, or 'Cause it's the law and the law
MUST BE OBEYED
IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT THERE IS NO CONNECTION TO REALITY
They got guns and badges and can make up any lie they want. Then send you to a kangeroo court.
Cops, judges and prosecutors, same team.
Them vs you.
Last week there was a murder on the Westside.
It is a significant waste of manpower and resources to have police on the boardwalk around 7 p.m.
in the middle of Sept busting people for the hienous crime of walking a dog or riding a bike.
Who and when did they come up with this?
The city needs to re-organize it's priorities.
Someone wants the boardwalk to be as sterile (another word for impotent)
as
Pier Village (No character). Where only a number of well to do white people who are afraid of thier own shadows spend significant amounts of money.
That's a developers dream that didn't account for the recession let alone a performers ordinance.
What next? Background checks and pass control?
Every body must walk single file on the right and not
carry anything suspicous. No sitting on a bench for more than twenty minutes. No hands in your pockets. Crossing your legs will be viewed as a sign of resistance and an indication your a terrorist at which point you can be detained
indefintely.
Mark my word. It is only a matter of time until they try to outlaw performers and artist as being
subversives, and get rid of the performers
ordinance as being disruptive
because
They had numerous "anonymous" complaints

CHALK FEST
CHALK FESTIVAL
When I Googled up chalk festival I got 23,700.000.000 hits
My first exposure to street art came in the first year of eight years of homelessness in Europe. Europe is two thousand years old the U.S. is two hundred.
When I returned to L.A. there was a feature in the
L.A. Times Sun. magzine about a street artist. I thought I could do that so I did.
Note the chalk drawing on the ground. I was an instant success and have been doing it ever since.
Upon settling in Assbury Pawk I continued my
wicked ways, doing chalk art in front of a local coffee shop. Even tho it benifitted us both the cheap bastard that ran the place wouldn't even give me a cup of coffee.
I had proposed this idea along with others to the local arts coalition (ARTSCRAP) but was blown off.
Their loss Asbury's gain
Anyhow it is obvious that chalk festivals are
BIG
They are held all over in places like Sarasota, Florida
and Pasadena, Calif. Google up "Chalk Festival"
and check it out for yourself...!!!!
So why not Asbury Pawk? I talked to our benifactor Johnny Mac and the city who agreed to the concept.
HALLELUJAH..!!
So now a date has been set. The second Sat. in Oct.
Which is Oct. 13, 2012.
Some of these festivals are big, with major prize awards that artist fly in from all over to compete for.
Our first effort will be more modest do to cost constraints.
First will be, "BRING YOUR OWN CHALKS"
Maybe in the future we will provide, but not the first time.
Registration is at Johnny Mac's which is across the street from the train station and city hall in Asbury Park. Asbury Park is a fifteen dollar, hour plus train ride from the city. Phill. Pa. is about four hours on NJ Transit bus 317 which boards at the Greyhound terminal. There will be a book. When you pay the fee you'll be issued a number.
Available squares will have a circle on them. Find the one you want then write your assigned number in the circle. If possible leave a space between you and the next guy so you don't walk on each others work.
The spaces are small but others "may be " available by the time of the show.
People can vote for thier favorites.
1st place 50% of gross
2nd place 25% of gross
3rd place 10% of gross
Awards ceremonies are held at Johnny Mac's at 8 P.M. Winners must be present to recieve thier award.
So....Le bon temps roulea...
Let the good times role. Help us make this a success. Tell your friend and neighbors. Anyone who is interested, budding artist, etc.
Help Azzberri Pawk deserve it's rightful place as Jerzi's cultural jewel. Support the arts, support culture.
Do hope to see you there. Camera candy will
be avilable.

SHEPPARD FAIREY
.....remember when..
SHEPPARD FAIREY
visited Asbury Park
Seems he got himself into a little trouble. He
apparently took some copyrighted material, a picture of OBAMA off the front cover of TIME MAGAZINE
and posterized it.
Even tho he altered the image apparently you can not do a piece "derived" from copy righted material.
Has nothing to do with derivatives. Anyway he got caught and was facing some serious jail time.
Got lucky, got probation.
I guess his signature slogan "OBEY" has taken
on new meaning
I've said this b-4 and will say it again...the way things are now, if your not willing to go to jail for your art, your not much of an artist

DIA EN LA PLAYA
Sooooo....!!!
...summer is gone. Thank ya'
Jesus
The crowds along with the crying babies are gone and now it it magic time. That special time of year when the crowds have thinned and it's possible to enjoy the magic of the shore.
The day started with a trip to the food bank where I picked up an "excess" of bread which I took to the shore and fed to the gulls.
A woman took pictures of me. Then we talked. We shared some coffee at Siculianos. She bought some art. Darryl came along and paid me the money he owed me.
She left. Later she called and I met her on the beach where we shared some herbal supplement.
All in all a special time
Usually I would do these pictures as a slide show but it woud lose something

DUTCH STEPS
I was in Amsterdamn in 81' It's a crowded place, so the houses are skinny and have narrow one person stairways to the next floor along the walls.
I was staying on the top floor of a youth hostel.
Groups of young tourist from around Europe were common. One day I put a sign at the bottom of the steps that read, "No women allowed".
Wasn't long before a militant young femenist marched up the steps and demanded in a loud aggressive voice...
......why aren't women allowed up here? There's nothing here...!
I sed;...I'm up here....!
...she ran back down the steps.
SET & SETTING
I heard this from somone. A violinist put on a show at some place like Carnegie Hall. He recieved a standing ovation and repeated encore, calls.
....yet when he went and played in a subway a week
later he was ignored.
