Someone in Asbury Park hates trees.

Never have I been in a place that has wacked

down more trees than here.

They cut them down on Cookman and all around Phillips Seaview towers.  Maybe a dozen or more and that doesn't include the ones that went when Sandy came thru here.

CAMERA CANDY CAMPAIGN

I have traveled from Venice Beach in L.A. to Amsterdam in Holland and all the stops in between.  I have been in a lot of towns.  As a traveler you get an overview that locals can't see.

At the risk of offending some I am sad to say the trouble with Asbury Park is it....

.....lacks character

Where are the cobble stone streets, the old oak trees and ivy covered walls? Ocean Grove has character.

At the last election James Keady talked about working with the tourist bureau in Trenton.

Look at your own door step James.  Parking tickets are not inviting, benches in the parks are.

To help save Asbury Park from itself ALF began

a camera candy campaign.

We live in the age of the camera phone.  A virtual blizzard of images.

Why not provide visitors with something to take pictures of...like chalk on the side walk?

It's not illegal.  If it was you'd have to bust kids for doing hopscotch on the sidewalk.

It's safe.  They put chalk down to make something less slippery.

It's not graffiti.  I'm an artist with a six page resume'

and forty six years of experience.

It doesn't cost the city a penny in clean up.  The work disappears by itself.

Best of all it gives the visitor some candy for

their cameras.

On the right, scroll down to the box marked "categories" and click on chalk, then hold the scroll button down and almost everything I've done in AP and NYC will pass by.

The good news is they've come and gone and never caused a problem or cost a penny.

Call off the culture cops

The police are killing the action on the boardwalk

The city is shooting itself in the foot.

Besides the Silver Ball Museum, the kiddie's water park and the miniature golf course there is nothing to make the boardwalk inviting and interesting

except the performers.

IT IS FOOLISH TO RUN OFF THE

 FREE ENTERTAINMENT

They are what give the boardwalk character.

They are more important than some immature, in-adequate summer wanna' be's power trip.

They are drunk on a taste of power.  They foam at the mouth talking about officer's discretion.  Translates if they didn't get laid the night before your guilty of a crime.

To make matters worse they are ignorant of the law.

They are bored.  Their ego's need a victim.

I have informed the city thru

Tony Nuccio

Of my intention to file a

CIVIL RIGHTS COMPLAINT

In four years of being in Asbury Park I have documented (Times, names, dates & places of a consistent pattern of harassment and violations

of my civil rights)

Regrettably this is a harsh step which I would like to

avoid if the following conditions can be met.

They are:

The City of Asbury Park re-affirm that the constitution of the U.S. is in effect in the city

either in writing (e-mail, on camera or registered mail)

Especially as it pertains to the following:

The 1st amendment and freedom of expression.

The right to face my accuser in court.  There have been numerous complaints against me yet the city can not produce a single name.

If I have the right to face my accuser in court there can be no such thing as an anonymous complaint.

How do we know there is a real complaint or is it just something the officer is making up? The Asbury Park police dept has a long and well documented history of creating crime where it doesn't exist as a form of

job security

So NO MORE ANONYMOUS COMPLAINTS.

Here's what should happen.  When I do my performance piece the city stations an officer/observer as a witness for the city.

If a person has a complaint the officer will be there and have witnessed any violation.

If there is a complaint the person is informed that I am a professional performer who has paid a fee and is exercising his right to freedom of expression.

Further inform them that they do not have to look at it.  They can choose to look and/or walk away.

If they still insist on filing a complaint they are welcome to go to the station and do so.

The complaint will be investigated and if found to have merit a summons will be issued and a court date set at which time they will be notified.

(Now the city can't say they didn't know)

The right to due process.  When a summons is issued unless there is an immenit threat the performer is allowed to remain where they are at until such time the matter is appropriately adjudicated before a court of law.

The public has a right to photograph public

servants doing public work in public.

Telling someone not to photograph them is grounds for termination.

Should not be re-hired this season.  There are enuff good recruits to pick from that the ones with complaints don't need to come back.

The speech police are the thought 

police in disguise

The speech police escalate censorship to the level of an intellectual orgasm.

Two items in the news.  First there is now a list of 26 words someone wants banned from the work place.  If this trend continues soon people will no longer be able to talk because so many words will be banned there will not be enuff left to carry on a conversation.

In Canada someone wants opposition to immigration

to be a hate crime.  I don't hate 'em but I don't like 'em either.  Is that o.k. or should I expect solitary 

confinement ?

(Personal Note:  I personally feel that the U.S. government is a criminal and treasonous entity.

Illegal immigration is a crime.  Legal immigration is a ponzi scheme.  Now the only question left for America is will the Mexican's accept Islam?)

Is it just a matter of time till opposition to immigration or opposition to the government is a thought crime.

George Orwell said something to this effect...freedom of expression is being able to say something someone else does not approve of.

Freedom of expression is just that.  There is nothing that sez: except for racial or ethnic or gender slurs, or if kids can hear.

You don't have to like it.  If not being able to say something depended on someone else's approval we'd all be in deep doo-doo.

Who would get to say who get's to say what and when?

I am a performance artist.  I do an act called the "last hippy"

I have various signs I show.  One sez:  

WIFE WANTED, SEW, COOK, CLEAN, 

GOOD IN BED

Thousands of people walk by and no one objects.  Then a woman decides she doesn't like it and calls the police.

She didn't have to look at it.  She could'a

walk away.  Who is she to decide what the others can see?

The following week someone else objects to the

guilt FREE SEX sign

More cops.  This time the summer wanna'be's.

In all the years I've been doing this that sign is the most popular sign that people want to have their pictures taken with.

The guy who complained sed if it was up to him he'd throw me under the boardwalk.  When I pointed out to the cop that was a terrorist threat, he said he didn't hear it.  Then threatened to take my camera and proceeded to throw me off the boardwalk for disturbing the peace.

How a piece of cardboard laying still could disturb anything remains to be seen.

Trouble is immature, inadequate wanna' be's drunk on a taste of power anxious to bully someone

to make themselves feel important and impress their superiors in hopes of being re-hired next year.

Their ego's need a victim.

Nobody made the guy look at it.  He choose to.  He could have walked away. Again who is he to decide for everyone else?

When you don't respect my right to pick and choose

my own words you don't respect me.  If you don't respect me you abdicate your right to my respect.

If you can decide what I can say, can I decide what you say?

If I can't say nigger, you can't say racist.

Better yet let's just respect each other's right to decide what words they want to use, whether

we approve of them or not.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and the right to express that opinion.  It does not depend on someone else's approval.

If you don't approve of what I say, just don't invite me to your party but respect my right to say it.

I was out for a walk when I discovered these piles of

broken glass near a footbridge that passes

from Ocean Grove to Azzberri Pawk.

Who put them there and why?  Someone put some effort into breaking up a lot of glass.
