ART LESSON
I was trained as a fine artist.
Which meant I had to face a blank canvas
and "make" a picture.
Decisions had to be made about subject, color, composition, etc.
By way of contrast cameras "take" pictures.
What's the difference between taking a picture
and making a picture?
It's a question I faced with the advent of computers
and
was the bridge.
The first time I experimented with it I thought,
...damn, I wish I could paint like that.
My first impression was there are limitations
to it. My second was that within those limitations
were infinite possibilities.
Here are some samples about how the fine
artist transitioned and adapted to the computer
and the digital age.

This brings us to another subject. The
business of creating an image by painting
on canvas is history and by extension
the galleries that show them are on their way out.
Nobody has the time to learn to draw freehand.
Even if you do a drawing it has to be digitalized and posted on-line to be seen. So why not do it on-line
to begin with. The logistics of viewing art in physical
space is prohibited.
There are programs just for that. They're a little
crude right now but they will advance.
It take's a lot of time and energy to learn to draw.
Nobody has that kind of time especially when you can do it on a computer. Put the time into the computer instead of the old fashion pencil.
Trouble is now there's nothing to sell. Just like
music. There is so much that is free why would you want to spend money on vinyl?
Then you poses something in physical space. It needs to
be taken care of. Stored and moved and it is deteriorating all the time.
Why get dressed, ride across town, locate parking and
go into a gallery. Eat some cheese, drink some wine,
talk to some people and look at thirty canvases.
Then go home, get undressed, smoke a dube and sit in front of your computer and look at thousands upon thousands of stunning images absolutely free till your eyes fall out.
Fifteen galleries have come and gone in the last three to four years here in Asbury Park.
The handwriting is on the wall.
Your looking at the future.

WIMMEN
Today, March 8, 2017
was
International Wimmen's Day
..what ever that means.
Recently there was a wimmen's march in
Washington, D.C.
Someone called it
"bitches on parade"
There were a lot of cars parked outside my place. I don't like crowds so I stayed inside.
That was followed by a day without
immigrants. I never would have known if someone hadn't told me. Didn't notice any difference. How about a week or a month. That'd be better
Now we got international wimmen's day. It's
hard to tell if they are complaining or celebrating.
A day without wimmen? How about a night with one?
That'd be radical.
It's been sed that the reason wimmen attract men is so they can reject them. It's a power trip.
Why do wimmen have sex with men. So they can
shorten up on the supply as a form of control.
In all fairness I must say this morning when I went for
coffee in the convention hall, it was free.
Compliments of some woman politician who wasn't there.
Thank you.
There were three wimmen behind the counter and a couple outside. They served me coffee without complaint.
Guess not everyone was on strike.

MORALITY
This article caught my attention because it
hits close to home. Something I thought about
for years.
I was a night time cab driver for years. I went from the deepest, darkest part of the hood to lily white neighborhoods.
The biggest noticeable difference was in the use of language, specifically the "N" word.
In the hood it is the most common word used along with muher fucker and shit.
Let you ride into the white hood and the word is never
mentioned. Even suggesting it stiffens people up.
Last year I was in the state of Washington. Not a black face in site yet the cab driver told me I shouldn't say that
around here.
I've often felt what this article claims. It basically
is a response to their own latent racism that they don't want to deal with.
Boy are they quick to lay the blame on you if you don't feel the way they do. They are anxious to call you a racist
because it distracts from their guilt.
This is Huffington Post. Smell the guilt. You a bad
guy. Banishes the offender from polite society.
Damn the luck. As if I was ever part of it.
How will I live?
Seems these girls spend to much time in a
circle jerk, telling each other what they want
to hear and what should be.
They need to check into the real world and do
some night time cab driving.
