IRAN

IRAN

Suddenly this site has experienced a spike in traffic.

I checked the stats to see what was happening.

It took about two and a half months to hit a thousand.

There has been a hundred and fifty in two weeks.

Twenty one yesterday and thirty five so far today.

The suprising thing is thirty three hits have come from
would you believe......Iran

What is going on?  Who is interested in what in Iran?

Maybe someone has hijacked my site and is using it
in some clandestine operation.

Either that or someone is interested in art.

If you are in Iran and have visited this site
please contact us @

ASBURY BLUES

My dominant sense is visual.  To keep from diverting energy from that I don't put to much energy into music.  I was thinking lately that music is part of culture so maybe I should put some energy in that direction.  To that end I went to a new spot in Asbury Park, the blues club, called

ASBURY BLUES

Got lucky.  It is obviously the new hot spot in AP.  The place to see and be seen.  Not only that I was there for a magic moment, meaning a really good set that had the ladies dancing in the isles.

I'm not sure if he called his group,
Slim Chance or was it Slim Change.  His name was Slim

That's "Slim" on the right.  You can expect ALF
to be a regular here.

That's Jill Ricci on the left.  She is one of the
co-owners of the gallery.  Note how her dress reflects
 her work on the right

At a recent show someone pointed out that a piece looked good "close".  If you take a red dot and a blue dot and place them next to each other then stand back far enuff they will make purple.

Artist often do thier work close up but then it is viewed
from a distance.  It looks great close up but when viewed from a distance it tends to melt together.  I've done this myself many times.

I've inserted some close ups of Jill's work so they can be better appreciated.  This is some very "labor intensive" work

Here is another example.  I don't know how this was done but doing it by hand will ruin your eyes

Here are the same pieces "close up" You can see
how intricate and fine the work is

This post would not be complete with out the
"Best dressed" couple.  Talk about your
BOLD
fashion statement.  All black and an enormous
(some what phalic) white tie.

Hmmmm...wonder what's on thier minds?

ART FAIRE

There have been signs of cultural life stirring in AP
The ART BANK at the Arcade ran an art fair over the weekend. There was a decent turnout

Here are some images from it

This is Joy Vay one of the "real" local talents.
She has a shop, downstairs, in the arcade, called

VA-VA-VOOM

Check it out

That's Shelloagh Casey with her work up top.  She use to be with the Shore Womens Abstract Gallery upstairs but it closed

Didn't get his name but he was with El-Co Color Labs Inc. in Manalapan.  They had some really good work showing.
