This is the Empress Hotel next to the board walk   A local gay place  I think Ru Paul a narcistic on steroids has performed there

When I moved into Phillips Seniors home I noticed the neon sign on the roof made a good shot on a foggy night  Then I noticed that part of an E in Empress and part of an S were dark  Also a little bit of the lower E had issues  I thought I'll wait till season starts  They'll fix it and I'll get a good shot

Season starts, two guys show up on the roof ad inspect the sign  Good luck I'll get my shots  By now the E and one S in Empress were down  The E in hotel had issues and a panel blew off the M  Season came and went Nothing happened  Last year was four hours of Donna Summers inviting me to ring her bell This year it's Simmon and Garfunkel's Sound of silence

The Stone Pony next to it was silent all summer

Other victims  The Showroom on Cookman closed  Never did like those people  Parlor gallery may still be open  Not from art sales

Tri City News was down for five months  Now just a former shadow of it self  If a 2nd wave hits and restaurants close his ad revenue will dry up  Good riddance  One less pretentious pretender

........and there are a lot of vacancies on Bangs Ave....!!
