…..that broke the camel's back
This is the Arthur C Ravenel bridge that crosses the
the river to Mt. Pleasant from Charleston, S.C. Ugly truth is there is no mountain there.
It replaced a rickety old two lane rollar coaster death trap. I was driving taxi there when it was built.
One night as I pulled onto it the passenger sed; go strait driver. Thirty five years of accumlated suppresed rage with back seat drivers exploded. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. I snapped.
Trembling with rage I drove to the high point and pulled over. I got out, walked around and opened the door. He looked at me and sed, what?...!!
I grabed him by the shirt and in one motion had him out of the cab and over the rail, without touching the ground.
As he fell down I leaned over the rail and sed; ....don't forget to fall....strait down. Closed the door and drove away before another car came along.
Wha' happened? Somebody went to town and didn't come home. Happens all the time. He's shark shit by now.
