was a beautiful Indian summer day.
I decided to go down to the boardwalk and try my luck
selling a little art.
I went down around 3 pm and set up in my usual spot
outside the ASBURY PARK YACHT CLUB.

I went into Pop's Garage and talked to a friend. I drank two glasses of wine. When my friend left I went and sat on the bench.
WHY DID I DO WHAT I DID?
I had gotten the local "culture ball rolling" with the passage of the performers ordinance and the designation of the FREE CULTURE ZONE South of the casino. The performers ordinance allows performers to collect tips.
While Jenn Hampton was in her castle on Cookman (Parlour Gallery) playing at being an artist with the other pretentious pretenders I was down on the boardwalk doing it. After four years suddenly Carrie Turner of Madison Marquette and her discover culture.
There is a very incriminating letter from me to Carrie which she did not read which led to a major falling out. It is available on request and will be posted soon.
Carrie had Jenn hire artists. Even tho I was over qualified (Six page resume' that has me working for major Hollywood studios) They brought someone from Germany to paint murals insight of my building. (Slap in the face) They covered every wall and left no space for Capt Flash and the Arts Liberation Front to be represented. (Space hogs)
Near the end of last season I confronted John Hugerth of M&M and Jenn outside the casino about representation of me and/or the ARTS LIBERATION FRONT. They said they were thinking about it and even tho I have seen them since it has never been mentioned again. (Year + has passed)
It is a mistake to play the Capt for a fool. I thought about it for a long time. What would be simple and effective response. I retaliated with an ART ACTION. On their signage I changed the "A" in Sea Change to an "X" so Sea Change read SEX Change.
I did this for Steve Rogers of PBS who was doing a special on culture in Asbury Park. I turned to the camera and challenged them to do something about it on public T.V.
The program aired in prime time Dec. 23 @ 8:00 pm.

I had talked to Carrie about Sacred Geometry and the CAMERA CANDY CAMPAIGN. To placate me they led me to believe I would be able to do a large chalk piece for them.
I did a free sample. A politically correct Tillie in the Casino. They played me for a fool. When I inquired when this was going to happen they said the event had been cancelled.
A year later it has never been mentioned again.

They never did come thru with the project. (As of this writing) It would have made a great promo piece. They are Cutting off their nose to spite their face.
I thought on it awhile.
The bench where I had sit had a broken board. They replaced it with a new one that had not yet weathered.
I had occupied this spot for five years. I thought a good retaliatory ART ACTION would be to put my name on my bench.
I planned this for sometime. I'd come around at night when no one would see.
My friend left. I had two glasses of wine in me. I thought, no one is paying attention, so on an impulse I went over to the bench and wrote my name.

TIMING
They say timeing is everything. They might be right. People would say it's stupid to do that in front of cops. Usually I check first but, wine and an impulse ..
...I screwed up
Just as I finished three cops were passing by in their golf cart. Two wanna' be's and a regular officer
Subsequent events would reveal that it was meant to be.
Deciding to roll with the punch and exploit the opportunity I whipped out my camera and began filming. I filmed right up until the cuffs were put on me.
But rather than go into detail about what happened next I invite you to see for yourself.

Eventually I was arrested. The decision to do that was made before it happened by officer #4.

So I go to jail. They take me to the station house and
book me.
Maybe in an hour I'm released. I walk down Mattison.
When I get to were it meets Cookman and Emory I contemplate getting a bottle of wine from the
LUSH liquor store on Cookman.
I decide against it but then change my mind and get a cheap bottle ($8) of red.
As I'm passing along Emory approaching Bangs. A vehicle pulls in behind me. I was almost to Bangs so I continued on.
I was approx. 3/4 of the way across Bangs in front of the restaurant Pascal and Sabine when the vehicle passed behind me and turned left up Bangs.
I turn to my left and notice it was a older model pick-up truck.
To my surprise the passenger door was open and a dog was coming out of it. Contrary to reports the dog did not come out the window.
Before I could say one, two it got me in my left ankle.
I looked down. The dog had me by my pant leg and was
tearing it up
I fell backwards over my cart. Going down I remember seeing the bottle of wine coming out of it's bag.
Tragic lost, waste of good wine
The bottle broke. I ended up in the wine next to
the broken glass.
The dog came around the cart and attacked again. I kicked it in the nose with my left foot. It backed off and came again. this time I got it with both feet. It turned and looked up to it's right...because...!!
...it's owner came out of the heavens, shrieking "NO" at the top of her lungs. She tackled the dog and drug it away from towards the N.E. corner.
I got up and stumbled/staggered away. I looked down. My pants leg was tore up and I was bleeding profusely.
I turned to see where the dog was. It was on top of it's owner who was on her back in front of Pascal & Sabines.
She was small. The dog was big. It did not look like she could hold it. I backed away towards the S.E. corner. The thought was to put some space between me and the dog in case it broke loose and came at me again. This way I would have time to re-act in self defense.
Shock begins to set in as I try and wrap my head around what's happening. I was walking down the street, then bam I'm injured and bleeding.
Things begin to get fuzzy. People were milling about. This was a Friday night. She had passed by a crowded festival at Emory and Cookman. It could have been worse.
I was concerned about where the dog was at. I did not see her truck. She had moved it and apparently the dog was in it.
The police show up and pretty soon an ambulance.
I get in it.
I was transported to Jersey Shore Medical and treated. I did a drawing of a nurse while laying down.
ENERGY or KARMA SHIFT
...is when you go for months with nothing happening then in one day three things happen. Car doesn't start. Landlord wants back rent, girlfriend leaves.
I recognized this as such but was wondering about the third.
It happened the next day, Sat Oct 8.

For five months I tried to get him to look at my work
and pick something. He stalled.

She also would like to draw attention away from
the 150% increase to the performers.
It's foolish to run off the free entertainment that
attracts visitors and mean spirited to raise the
rent on therm.
It is an ordinance which is based on lies about complaints.
Even tho they were asked not to raise the fee on
seniors, disabled and veterans they did it anyway.
When confronted they claimed they could not rescind them because of the state assistance.
A former city manager told me they can do anything they want.
Is there a connection. I think so. That would explain the long arrest with excess officers. I think this is an attempt to suppress my first amendment rights with a
pardon the pun a "trumped" up charge.
They would like to use this as a way to get me off
the boardwalk. You've been charged with a crime therefore we will deny you a performers permit
