CORONA VIRUS

In certain parts of Tibet monks live alone like hermits in huts and caves as a way of gaining enlightenment.

Of course nobody can live in a cave by themselves,  They need food, water and heat.  They depend on a monk in the village below who once a month re-supplies the hermit.

He must carry supplies on a mule and walk for a day before camping at the foot of the mountain over nite and in the morning climb for most of the day, with a pack mule up ward.

The supply list for the trip was as follows;

A large bundle of dried cow dung for heat.
A fifty pound sack of rice.  There was a spring nearby.
A bag of dried onions, tea, two bottles of night time cold medicine, two roles of toilet paper, two qts of Japanese beer, some chocolate, a small amount of marijuana ......and

....a face mask, rubber gloves and  a large, plastic container of....hand sanitizer.

The monk told him of the pandemic and he should take precautions.  First self isolate.  The hermit chuckled.  Always use a hand sanitizer, wash your hands for twenty seconds at least in hot soapy water. Don't touch your face.
 Bump elbows and cough into your elbow. Minimize contact with strangers like me.

The hermit didn't want a plastic container in his cave.  Said it was pollution.  The monk persisted.  The hermit gave in.

They had a meal, shared a beer and went to sleep.

In the morning the monk left.  He died of the virus within three days of returning home.

A week later the hermit died alone in his cave.  Because of social stress it was ten years before he was discovered.

He was a skeleton with clothes on underneath a blanket.  Near by were two empty beer bottles, an empty cold medicine bottle and a small amount of marijuana and a barely used large plastic bottle of hand sanitizer.
