I lived in L.A. for thirty years  I drove cab at night in and around Hollywood and worked in the studios

I'm often asked if I met any celebrities?  Yes

 

Probably the most famous was somebody you need to be a little older to remember

WALTER WINCHELL

He was a famous radio broadcaster during WWII

......good evening Mr & Mrs America and all the ships at sea...!!!!

He was famous for that  He was a viscous gossip columnist who eventually was ostracized from the air waves

He ended up living out his days at the Ambassador hotel on Wilshire Blvd in L.A.  It was rumored that he passed out mimeographed columns he wrote

In the early 60's I was driving cab in L.A. at night One morning I pulled into the cab stand there and got out to talk to the door man, Harry Black

He was talking to an older guy.  He introduced me to him  It was Walter Winchell  Totally surprised I called him Walt  Harry got up set but Walt sed it was O.K. because I was a kid  Thanx Walt

2nd most famous, depends on who you ask, 

ROD STEWART

One night I take a call for Beverly Hills  Way back in the hills  Lot of very expensive homes  All of them have fences and gates around them  I pull up to the gate and call on the phone  Soon a guy comes down and let's me in  I go up a drive way and turn around and wait  The guy goes in  Soon a short blonde haired guy comes out and asks me how much it is to go to a certain place  I tell him, he goes back inside  Soon a couple of wimmen come out and get in  I take them there and they get out

Week later a call to the same place  This time the gate is open  The guy who let me in be for comes out and get's in  He gives a destination I know to be a see and be seen spot  Out of curiosity I asked him who lives there  

That was ROD STEWART who came out and asked me how much

MICHAL JACKSON

Let me swear on ten stacks of bibles, because I promised never to reveal this.....but a year after he died I had him in the cab  LOL

Not him but the girl who danced next to him in the thriller video but I couldn't remember her name  I had her in the cab twice  The first time she was crying because her Iranian boyfriend wouldn't marry her as fast as she wanted to

                      WILLIAM MARGOLD 

was the God father of  porn Knew and worked with him for years

Here he is with his wife VIPER who I worked for once

She was famous for pioneering full body tattoo's

Here he is with SERENA another porn star I knew

She was known because she had inverted nipples

This is AMBER LYNN a famous porn star he named his cat after I never met her but thought I'd include this hot shot of her for some window dressing

        This was his cat who he named after her 

Amber Lynn sicle

When he passed she took the cat but it didn't get along with her pets

Took Dino Delaurentis's nephew to the Good Samaritan hospital to see his uncle I gave him my book to show to his uncle  Nothing ever came of it

Saw GOLDA MIER from a distance outside the Beverly Hills hotel

I think it was BURT BACHERACH who was very drunk  Not sure it was him

I came across NICOLE SIMPSON one night in a bar across from the Burbank Studios  She was there with her buddy Fay Resnick  I drew her picture  It wasn't till years later when I saw a picture of her  I recognized her because she had a very distinct eyebrows

Was a homeless person at a benefit to raise money for homelessness be fore it became trendy Debbie Reynolds was the speaker
