Fascist politics and in-adequate ego's have resulted
in a ban on photography in the Annex. Who is affected by that? Me and only me. (and by extension, you) Creativity is o.k. and good for poetry but an artist is not allowed to take/make a picture. Such smallness/hipocrasy. Shame on you.
According to Chris Rockwell he had "lot'sa" complaints. Flat out bull shit just like Dana Parcel and Dennis Carol claim to have had "lot'sa" complaints about me. Nobody and I mean no body has ever said word one to my face.
This business of "anonymous complaints" is total bullshit. It's the arguement of someone with no balls. The reason they won't come up with someone who complained is because there is no one.
What kind of poetry reading is it where poems are laced with profanities such as fuck and shit but don't take pictures because someone might be un-comfortable.
The censorship, vulgarites and fascism not to mention the mini-ego's is offensive to me and makes me un-comfortable.

ReplyDeleteFirst off there isn't a ban on photography and there wasn't a ban on your photography. The problem is your stupid little comments and remarks that you put around your photos. Now you approach people about taking their picture and putting it up on your blog, but you leave out that your going to include your own little snide remarks and criticism along with it. Would you really like it if we took your picture and commented about 'fucking you to death' or worm fucking or whatever it is you said before about others? Fine you may like fucking worms but attaching that to someone elses picture isn't really tactful or tasteful.
Now we all appreciate you taking down the picture when asked, but now we have to monitor your site for stupid bullshit remarks and pictures for 'your freedom' of expression, fuck that.
Then yes, according to Chris Rockwell a bunch of people complained...I'm gonna be honest with you, your not the most approachable looking person. I know your gonna say I shouldn't judge you and shit like that, but you look kinda homeless and scary, so maybe thats an issue that you need to address.
I don't know who this Dana and Dennis are, but when are you going to get a clue that you are creeping people out. Maybe you should stop accusing other people of judging you and turn around and look at the image that you give off and question whether or not its really the persona you want to present to people.
It is not Chris Rockwell's job to start the revolution. Neither is it the annex's. it's his reading series and if theres something he doesn't like he has every right and freedom to control how he wants it. Instead of complaining about it maybe you should start your own reading series where people can do whatever they want.
Another side note about how people don't have the balls...I mean I called you out on stage in front of everyone that night. You took picture after picture of the girls who went up and read. Again thats kind of a creepy thing to do and noticed by many at the reading. Maybe you should reevaluate your own standards as an artist and not be so judgemental about who you photograph.

The Art Liberation Front has been around for a long time and represents a time when people actually fought for and believed in the freedoms they were fighting for. They didn't throw around the word 'fascist' and make claims that there freedom was being taken away mannnnnn (especially by someone who pretty much allows anything to be said or done within their reading series) You should probably reevaluate your own values and stop abusing a movement for your own self-rightious 'freedom agenda'.

the "ban" is not for all photography at the annex. it's only for dirty old men who ogle all the girls then post pictures of them with lewd (and in some instances illegal) comments next to them. expressing desires that allude to fucking a girl to death is, in some cultures, not ok.

i can even let some of that go if your blog had anything worthwhile on it. i can't even read a single word you're trying to say because looks like a 12 year old girl's text message conversation. i'd show you examples but i don't think you should be anywhere near a 12 year old girl either.
the supposed "ban" on photography in the annex is a lie. in fact, i will be taking pictures of all the poets next time i'm there. they'll be much better both in image quality and artistic composition. i'll post them on a website that looks like it's from this decade with positive comments and i promise i won't threaten any rape or murder. i'll go so far as to take pictures of everyone regardless of gender or level of physical attraction. because art is about inclusion, not the spank bank for a dirty old hippie with bad spelling.
