LESSONS
Once there was a famous Sufi Mystic named
NASRUDIN
One night Nasrudin was down on his hands and knees under a street lite looking for something.
A strangers came along and asked what he was doing? I lost my keys. The stranger offered to help.
After about ten minutes the stranger asked, where did you loose your keys at? Nasrudin replied over by the door.
Then why are you looking here, the strangers asked?
Because the lite is better here.
Nasruddin went to a bank to cash a check. The teller looked at him and sed: the check looks good, can you identify yourself. Nasruddin pulled out a mirror and sed; yep! that's me.
Two monks, an old one and a young went for a walk. They came to a river where there was an old lady. She asked the older monk to carry her across the river, which he did.
As they walked away the younger monk berated him...you didn't have to do what she wanted he protested.
The older monk sed: I left her at the river, your still carrying her.
A guru gave two disciples a chicken each and told them to go kill them where no one could see.
A couple of hours later one came back with the dead chicken.
The other showed up two days later with the live chicken. The guru asked what happened?
The disciple replied, everywhere I went there was the chicken.
First day of school, the first lesson was the number one. One (pardon the pun)student couldn't get it. His parents were ashamed and sent him away.
After sometime he returned and sed he thought he had it. Then he wrote the number one on the wall and the wall cracked in half.
ASBURY ART
Recently there was a full page ad in the Tri-City News. A black page and in the middle was a link;
AsburyWithoutTheArts.com
I clicked on it on April 25. It took me to the ARTSCAP site
Ref; Asbury Arts Post> April 25, 2013
Today I clicked on it again and got a different site. Seems ARTSCRAP wants the local candidates to respond to the question of what are their financial and practical commitments to the arts in Asbury Park over the next four years? Good question.
There were some responses;
RANDY THOMPSON
Doesn't have a clue about the arts in AP. Has a lot of ideas and talks like a politician. Tell 'em what they want to hear. He talks about bringing outside artist into help. Relax Randy. I'm here and have been here for sometime.
AMY QUINN
Spoke on behalf of Asbury One. Another clueless person. Doesn't even know ALF exist let alone about the performers ordinance, the Free Culture Zone or the war on culture.
JOHN LOFREDDO
At the council meeting when the performers ordinance was before it, John sed;
"It's about time music got it's due", and passed the ordinance.
The "Sandwitch" was a sandwich shop next to the miniature golf course. They had groups playing next to it with full knowledge and consent of Madison Marquete for three years.
Along comes the city and tells them that they now must obtain a more expensive "cabaret license" and the musicians would have to be on their property. No room for them and the tables.
Drove them out of business, it did. They were told that they had a anonymous complaint. Impossible if you have a right to face your accuser in court?
As the lady who ran it sed; ...they killed the vibe.
That they did. Guess who was behind it? Greed trumps culture ...again in AP
SUE HENDERSON
Hooray for Sue Henderson. She got a couple of things wrong.
...so in the lean years hundreds of young and experienced artist found a safe haven to live and develope their art. First off there are not
"hundreds" of young artist. There's hardly any at all and they don't got to worry of being pushed out by the four galleries in town.
Finally ALF gets a mention. They passed an ordinance that got the FREE CULTURE ZONE
designated and she mentioned the performers ordinance, as flawed as it may be. What she doesn't realize is that AP in the year they celebrated their musical heritage they outlawed culture at a grass roots level. Probably would make the boss sick.
ALF wishes the canidates would acknowledge the war on culture and call off the culture gestapho.
Running off the free entertainment is not smart.
JIM KEADY
Whoa...!!! hold on Jim. didn't you get that e-mail I sent you? Provide funding for ARTSCRAP, the pretend organization. Some say a front for the gay mafia. They do nothing but talk.
What about ALF? Don't you think getting a performers ordinance passed helps artist MAKE MONEY. What about the FREE CULTURE ZONE and the war on culture?
How can ARTSCRAP call itself a COALITION
of the arts in AP? What coalition? Who is in it? A few photographers? I got some dirt on those people if anyone is interested?

ASBURY ARTS
In this weeks TRI CITY NEWS (4-25-13 P.27)
There was a full page ad. A black page and in the middle was
AsburyWithoutTheArts.com
On the bottom it sed:
Who cares about the arts in Asbury Park ?
Then it repeated the link.
The link takes you to a list, the first being
ARTSCRAP
The so called local Arts Coalition.
No art there, guess nobody cares.
I've sed this b4 and will say it again that
ARTSCRAP is a circle jerk. A bunch of people playing games and telling each other what they want to hear.
How can you call yourself an arts coalition interested in promoting the arts in AP and not mention ALF who got a performers ordinance passed and a
FREE CULTURE ZONE
designated?
LAST SMOKE
THE LAST SMOKE
Once there was a man who liked to smoke cigarettes. (Nicotine addict) One night before going to bed he thought he'd like one last smoke.
Trouble was he was out of smokes. He contemplated whether to go to bed or go out and get a pack of cigarettes. Nicotine addiction being what it is he decided to go get some.
When he got to the store it was closed. He knew that there was a laundromat a couple of more blocks away that stayed open all night. The cigarette machine was in the back room. As soon as he got his pack of smokes the wind blew the door shut and trapped him in the back room.
After an hour of useless yelling and banging on the door he sat down to have a smoke. He threw the match into a drain in the middle of the room.
Thinking this might be a way out he took off the grate and discovered a ladder going down.
Being desperate he went down the ladder but slipped and fell into a sewer and was carried out to sea where he was picked up by a passing ship. The ship was headed in the wrong direction. They dropped him off on a remote island to wait for a ship going in the right direction.
A supply ship came every two months. He had just missed it by a day. The next time it did not show up because of a severe storm. Then incredibly it missed the next trip because of mechanical problems.
Six months later he returned home to discover his wife and children, along with everything he owned had vanished without a trace.
But! (Pardon the pun) laying in the gutter was a good size butt.
RANDOM THOUGHTS 4/25/13
The noble nose, knows
where the royal
hose goes
How do you add insult to injury?
You make someone wait a long time before you pull the rug out from under them by telling them "no".
It's easy to find fault with others when we want to.
A taste of honey is worst than none at all.
Why do women have sex?
So they can take it away, or at least shorten up on the supply as a form of control.

ART
(The Art of Revenge)
(The Art of Revenge)
Once there was a very attractive girl with well developed breasts. She was very popular. Everyone wanted to be her friend. She was invited to all the parties. When she went to the ball it was warm, the lights sparkled, there were smiles and laughter all around.
While the music played on inside, outside, standing by himself in the cold was an artist. He wasn't very attractive. Actually he was cold, broke, dirty and hungery. No one paid any attention to him. Under his arm were some drawings he was trying to sell to get something to eat. There were no takers.
The years passed by. Her beauty, like a flower began to fade. Her large ample breasts began to sag. Younger, prettier women began to get more attention than her.
She caught her husband with another woman, her boyfriend with a man.
He on the other hand continued to draw. He did this for forty years with little or no recognition. It was a long, hard, cold, difficult existence. Sometimes he was so lonely he wondered if he existed. He was so ignored he thought he was invisible. The up side was he had a lot of time to practice.
Thru perseverance, hard work and dedication, slowly his work improved, modest sales began.
When she got out of re-hab for the third time they met at his exhibition. She thought his work was beautiful. She bought some then tried to seduce him.
He felt sorry for her so he went to bed with her but was turned off by her flabby breasts that hung to her stomach.
