LAST SMOKE

THE LAST SMOKE

Once there was a man who liked to smoke cigarettes. (Nicotine addict)  One night before going to bed he thought he'd like one last smoke.

Trouble was he was out of smokes.  He contemplated whether to go to bed or go out and get a pack of cigarettes.  Nicotine addiction being what it is he decided to go get some.

When he got to the store it was closed.  He knew that there was a laundromat a couple of more blocks away that stayed open all night.  The cigarette machine was in the back room.  As soon as he got his pack of smokes the wind blew the door shut and trapped him in the back room.

After an hour of useless yelling and banging on the door he sat down to have a smoke.  He threw the match into a drain in the middle of the room.

Thinking this might be a way out he took off the grate and discovered a ladder going down.

Being desperate he went down the ladder but slipped and fell into a sewer and was carried out to sea where he was picked up by a passing ship. The ship was headed in the wrong direction.  They dropped him off on a remote island to wait for a ship going in the right direction.

A supply ship came every two months.  He had just missed it by a day.  The next time it did not show up because of a severe storm.  Then incredibly it missed the next trip because of mechanical problems.

Six months later he returned home to discover his wife and children, along with everything he owned had vanished without a trace.

But! (Pardon the pun) laying in the gutter was a good size butt.
