TUFF TAXI

Been a bad week to be a cab driver, but then what week isn't.  Two items in the news lately a cab driver gets shot twice in the head by a irate passenger for going the "long way".  It's called the long way game.  It's usually played, but not always by black females.

The second you pass a certain point your told, you could've gone the other way, it's shorter, whether in fact it is or is not.  You can go over here and up there or up there and over here.  Same thing unless suddenly your the boss of the moment and that power rushes to your head.

The second is a driver is burned for fifteen hundred bucks when he takes someone from the Sacramento bus depot to N. Dakota.

He get's two hundred and forty bucks up front and a promise of fifteen hundred (Actual fare was $4,800) when he gets there.

Even signs a contract.  LOL.  Not paying a cab fare is a civil matter not a criminal matter.  I never agreed to pay that much.  Gotta' take it to small claims court.  Good luck.

His girlfriend was not there to pay the money as expected.  'Magin dat.

I took a drunk home one time under the same promise.  She'll pay.  She was un-happy about being woke up at three A.M. to pay some drunks cab fare.  I got payed, a coffee can full of loose change.  Lucky me.

In the comment section another cab driver made some interesting points.  They had to drive thru five states.  Did they drive straight thru, or did they stop at a motel.  Who paid for that?

The driver was stranded and spent the night in a homeless shelter.  Didn't like it.  He claims the gas station gave him food and a tank of gas.  One tank of gas is not going to last for fifteen hundred miles.  Sumptin' fishy here.

I got burned big time once.    Young and naive greed got the better of me.  Took a guy from L.A. to Vegas for a bad money order.  Blew the engine on the cab on the way back.
